There's nothing like reading a book that you love.   Being unable to put it down  The anticipation of turning each page to find out how your new friends extract  themselves from  the perilous situation that they  have you landed  in.   Unfortunately, not all books will be this way.  There is that random book that doesn't agree with you.  And  you struggle to continue reading even though you  are not enjoying the journey that you  are on .   Thus you find yourself at a crossroads.  Should you continue  on this path  or should you put the book down? That is the question  I have found myself at this junction quite a few times.  My opinion is as follows. Yes it is totally fine to put a book down if you're not enjoying it and don't find yourself connecting to the characters.  Or if it's a subject matter that just doesn't jive with your personality.  I think that if you're going to spend your time reading a book for hours upon hours during the day it should be something that you look forward to not something that you feel as if you have to finish.  Of course there is always the exception  for example, let's say that you were reading something that's not  necessarily  your cup of tea but you find the characters likable and you enjoy them and you really want to find out what happens I think at this point it is OK to skim read,  only read certain words so that you  get the gist of what's going on   And you can find out what happens to the  lovable characters.  Of course these are just my humble thoughts I would be interested to know what others think.  Merry Christmas and happy holidays!     May  the pages be with you, Anna
